The Parochial Church Council (PCC) of Tile Cross & Fordbridge recognises the need to safeguard children, young people and adults in our care and guard against the possibility of any form of abuse by persons who may be acting in the name of our parish. We aim to create a safe environment for the nurture and development of children, young people and adults, in order for them to feel valued and confident to ask for support and help. We strive to ensure that our policies and procedures uphold the importance of our responsibility to protect and safeguard the welfare of everyone entrusted to our care.

St Peter’s Safeguarding Coordinator is Denise Dickson. Denise ensures all of the PCC, the Pastoral Visiting Team and anyone else eligible receives safeguarding training and a DBS check. Denise updates the PCC regarding the latest training and information needs and meets regularly with Rev Alex Lavin to provide safeguarding updates.

As designated Coordinator Denise should be contacted should any concern need to be raised.

The Church of England – Birmingham is committed to Promoting a Safer Church for everyone. Safeguarding is the action the Church takes to promote a safer culture. We will seek to promote the welfare of children, young people and adults, work to prevent abuse from occurring, protect those that are at risk of being abused and respond well to those that have been abused. We will take care to identify where a person may present a risk to others, and offer support to them whilst taking steps to mitigate such risks.
